Broken Shepherds™ Inspiration.
Broken Shepherds™ was birthed during the production of The Religion Business docuseries. While examining the massive financial scale of the nonprofit and religious sectors, the project uncovered legal loopholes and structural gaps that can allow for systemic fraud, abuse and inurement. Rather than only highlighting the problem, Chris and Nathan began exploring solutions.
Broken Shepherds™ emerged as a non-governmental response, an independent platform designed to empower donors, churches, and nonprofits with greater transparency and connection. By using technology and community participation, the app aims to close accountability gaps, encourage responsible stewardship, and help people give with greater confidence.
